Thing #4

Blogs are a great informal way of getting information out to the public. My only problem with them is that I hate to write and am a slow typer. So it sometimes takes forever to post something. With that being said, I do enjoy reading blogs.

So I was reading the blog about not assigning homework, And I agree with the writer. I hate giving homework. 1 because I hate doing homework myself, and 2, because students don't do it. They forget to do it, copy off their friends,or forget to bring it. In fact, that is probably teh reason Irving ISD is not grading homework anymore. They only grade tests, quizzes and projects. I heard about this today on the news. It was shocking, but I can see why.

Another blog I read was Spies Like Us. It was talking about the dangers of video on cell phones in school. Unfortunately youtube is huge and the kids like putting videos on there. It is so easy to record on a cell phone. So be careful what you do or say. you never know what is watching.

  1. I hate giving homework because I hate grading homework... :) I do think it drops expectations, but what do you do? I haven't given homework since my first six weeks as a teacher when over half of my students failed due to not turning it in... Then I was reprimanded by a principal... So I stopped. Blog On!

  2. I'm with you on hating to write, but I can type fairly fast--so I love blogging! I tend to ramble on a little bit more than what I probably should, but I just like typing!
